Giovanna Bernardini graduated in Philosophy under Remo Bodei. She has carried out research in the fields of history of science and historiography. She has worked on women’s history, with studies on civil resistance through oral history, and contemporary art. She was Councillor for Culture for three legislations in the provincial administration of Massa Carrara, creating the first Centre for Women against gender-based violence, and in the Municipality of Carrara for which she organised two International Sculpture Biennials. She planned and secured the inclusion of the city in the Unesco Creative Cities Network. She teaches History and Philosophy at the Liceo Scientifico di Carrara.
